The MBA Students are required to complete an approved internship as part of the Missouri S&T MBA program. The internship counts for six credits of the total 36 credit MBA program.
The goal of the internship is to allow
students to apply critical thinking skills and discipline specific knowledge in
a work setting based on a project or job description designed by the advisor
and employer. In addition, the Missouri S&T MBA Internship
program is established to assist companies with enthusiastic interns to fulfill
their summer work and project load. The internship experience is
designed to immediately follow the CORE semester.
Internship Qualification
The internship must meet the following criteria to qualify for the Missouri S&T MBA program:
Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing,
Operations and/or Supply Chain Management, Management Information Systems,
Human Resources/Organizational Behavior, Enterprise Resource Planning, Project
Management.
Other business components may be approved by
the student's MBA Advisor.
Placement
We partner with companies to place our students according to their individual skills, talents, and interests in order to best match the employer's needs and provide the student with a successful internship experience.
Students have opportunities to find placement
with companies such as EDS, Tellabs and Monsanto through our MBA program.
The internship follows the Core semester and is offered in the summer.
Along with our Career Opportunities Center on campus, our department assists in
the placement process. However, students are encouraged to also seek and
secure internships. Students will receive assistance in seeking
internships offered through our professional development series during the CORE
semester.
