Once an applicant completes the steps above, the departmental MBA Admissions Committee will begin their evaluation of the entire application file.

Admissions criteria:

All applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university or college. The MBA Admissions Committee considers overall academic performance (especially focusing on the last two years of coursework) and the reputation of the undergraduate institution.

All applications will be reviewed by the departmental MBA Admissions Committee, and a variety of information that may support admission decisions includes: scholastic achievement, leadership experience, scores on standardized exams, work record, and other indices that may be related to academic and career success. 

Standardized Testing:

All applicants must take the GMAT or GRE exam. The MBA Admissions Committee considers overall score and looks for balance between quantitative and verbal aptitude of candidates.

All applicants must have a proven proficiency in English, the language of instruction at Missouri S&T. For international applicants, the TOEFL or IELTS scores are considered, but may be waived if the applicant has worked or studied for two or more years in an English-speaking country. The desired TOEFL score required for admission consideration is 577 (paper based), 233 (computer based), or 90 (Internet based).  The desired IELTS score required for admission consideration is 6.5. Note: The admissions committee considers additional language abilities a plus.

Resume:

All applicants must submit a resume detailing professional experience, awards, honors, volunteer activities and special projects.

Letters of Reference:

All applicants must submit three letters of reference. The MBA Admissions Committee considers the applicant's motivations for pursuing an MBA degree, personality, character and how the applicant would contribute to the class.
