MBA applicants require a bachelor's degree from an approved (accredited) institution. International applicants must have a degree comparable to an approved U.S. bachelor's degree from a university accredited by the appropriate governmental agency. Applicants must have attained a GPA of at least 3.00/4.00 in their last two years of coursework.
Applicants are not required to have an
undergraduate degree in business. Students without an undergraduate business
degree are required to have taken microeconomic and macroeconomic theory,
finance, management and organizational behavior, business law, financial and
managerial accounting, marketing, operations, management and information
systems, and inferential statistics. Applicants must also demonstrate
proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Non-Business Majors are allowed to take
Missouri S&T’s NEW Business
Essentials courses to satisfy the MBA prerequisites in 12 credit
hours.
All applicants must also demonstrate
proficiency in English. Applicants whose first language is not English and who
attended educational institutions where the language of instruction was not
English, will be required to submit the score obtained in the Test of English
as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing
Systems (IELTS) test. The minimum TOEFL score required for admission
consideration is 600 (paper based) or 250 (computer based) and the minimum
IELTS score required for admission consideration is 6.0.
All MBA program applicants are required to
take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) that is administered by the
Educational Testing Service, Princeton, U.S.A.The test must have been taken
within five years of the term for which the student is applying. A minimum
Total Score of 550 is required for admission consideration. http://www.gmac.com When the
minimum required GMAT score is not met, the student’s undergraduate GPA is
combined with the GMAT score for further admission’s consideration.
