Non-Business Majors may complete one or more of the Business Essentials courses as a prerequisite for the Missouri S&T MBA program.  The Business Essentials are offered in a fast-paced condensed format and replace the traditional 3 credit hour courses that are required to fulfill the prerequisites for the Missouri S&T MBA program.  Each Business Essentials course is offered in a 1.5 credit hour format with the course content being covered in a few short weeks.  

Eight (8) Business Essentials courses are offered beginning in the Fall 2008 semester as follows:

BUS 405:  Accounting Essentials

ECON 405:  Economics Essentials

BUS 409: Mathematics and Statistics Essentials

BUS 406: Management and Business Law Essentials

MKT 407: Marketing and Strategy Essentials

BUS 408:  Operations Management Essentials

FIN 405:  Finance Essentials

BUS 412:  Management Information Systems Essentials

These classes are designed so that students may complete as many of the Business Essentials as needed to fulfill the MBA prerequisites.  For example, a student may complete one class per semester by adding it to their schedule or complete all eight classes in one semester for a total of 12 credit hours.  

Requirements for Registering for Business Essentials

A 3.0 GPA or higher and junior/senior standing is required to register.
